that those two hypothetical subwoofers should have identicaly T-S parameters, save for the obvious ones... in that case, the 15 would indeed have a slower response time than the 10.... however, this lag is much smaller than the period of the highest frequency that a subwoofer will be asked to play which is why audio nerds say "size doesn't matter" when it comes to sloppiness... when you hear a sloppy system you are hearing the group delay of the system not being optimized... but usually the upside is out-and-out SPL. Again, like I said before, most 15" systems sound sloppy only because they tend to be more SPL-oriented. You can always make a 15" system sound cleaner than an improperly-designed 10" system. As you probably know, I define "system" as being the woofer, plus the enclosure (order, volume, etc), plus the loading (the environment the subwoofer is trying to excite). -Alt
